Our lovely propriétaire, Joh, is finally back (sort of) from maternity leave. With her, come good things… like waxflower and ranunculus.

Oh ranunculus, how we’ve missed you.

hello, Havana.

Autumn nights in Vancouver… drink wine, wander down to the beach, dorkily stop to point out flowers while my friends shake their heads at me, climb trees, take photos.

Today, I was really excited to post photos of the shop. Lo and I spent the whole of our holiday Monday (Canadian Thanksgiving!) rearranging furniture, and the end result is fabulous. We moved our work stations, completely redid the cash area, and even redesigned our main window display for October. Basically, we’re amazing. NBD.

So yes, I was all set to share pictures of this awesome redesign, but I got home and realized I’d forgotten the cord with which to transfer said photos onto my laptop (whose name is Isis, just fyi). Therefore, instead of pretty shop pictures, you get this:

It came from here. I know you’ll all thank me for this later.

Lo and I spent all morning jumping up and down with excitement over this foresty wedding. Half of what ended up in the arrangements came from Lo’s backyard – we’re getting to be expert foragers. The wedding was held at Aberthau House in West Point Grey – a 100-year old Tudor style mansion now used as the neighbourhood’s community centre.

The bridal bouquet had scabiosa pods, dusty miller, spray roses, weigela, heuchera, antique hydrangea, helleborus, dahlias, and roses.

The centerpieces were succulent and local moss terrariums.

So friggin’ cool! Look inside for a fungal surprise…

So adorable, oh my goodness. Lo seriously outdid herself with this wedding; it’s probably our favourite one yet.

Moss terrariums + garden flowers + muted tones = Celsia heaven.

A few weeks ago, we did a gorgeous low key dockside wedding at Jericho Beach.

I love the blue-grays of the ocean sky married with the pink and mauve flora.

Don’t you?

love, love, love.

As promised…

Arrangement I made for a birthday order over the weekend with decorative kale, lisianthus, mini green & peegee hydrangeas, ornithogalum, and cymbidium orchids. Green and white seems to be a rather popular colour scheme these days.

In other news, Chelsea and I are going to see one of my favourite new bands at The Biltmore tonight. They’re called The Head and The Heart, and you should absolutely go buy their debut, self-titled album immediately. Their songs are full of warm, haunting vocals and melodies that strip you bare, all sprinkled with just a hint of twang.

Ah, be still my heart.
